Bangladeshi Chicken with Okra Curry / Bhendi Chicken Curry

Bhendi is the Bengali name of okra and usually we eat as a vegetable . In this recipe Okra make some change of regular chicken curry taste by its flavor .

Ingredients:

500 g. chicken bone less or with bon
200 g. okra
50 g. tomato
1/2 cup onion paste
01 tbsp. garlic paste
01 tbsp. ginger paste
01 tbsp. turmeric powder
01 tsp cumin powder/ PASTE
pinch of cumin seed
01 pcs bay leaf
02 pcs dry red chili
01 tsp chili paste/powder
01 inch cinnamon stick
02-03 pcs cardamom
3-4 pcs cloves
5-6 pcs black pepper corn
1/2 tsp mixed hot spices powder
Salt as per taste
Oil for cooking

For Marinate the chicken

1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp ginger paste
01 tsp garlic paste
1/2 tsp red chili powder

 

Method:

## cut the okra by finger size . Cut the chicken with medium size then chicken keep in a side.

## Marinate the chicken with salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, ginger paste, garlic paste then keep it rest for 30 minuets . After marinate shallow fry the chicken and keep in a side .

## Make the pan medium high heat then roast the cinnamon stick, cardamom, cloves, black pepper corn, dry red chili, bay leaf and cumin seed put oil after 01 minuet . When oil will be heat then add onion paste and stir well, after onion become brown add tomato chopped, garlic paste, ginger paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and continue stir until oil will come out from gravy .

## Add chicken and okra on the gravy and mixed well . After 3-5 minuet add 01 cup hot water and keep it on medium heat for about 08-10 minuet or until drumstick and chicken become cooked . Adjust with salt and sprinkle the mixed hot species powder before finished cooking . After finish cooking enjoy with steam rice, yellow fried rice or roti .
